Governing senior fellow Ron Littlefield inducted into American Institute of Certified Planners’ College of Fellows
Littlefield given highest honors awarded for outstanding achievement in certified planning.
Sacramento, California – April 27, 2016 – Ron Littlefield, a senior fellow for the Governing Institute and the former mayor of Chattanooga, Tenn., was inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) this month. Induction into AICP’s College of Fellows is among the highest honors awarded for outstanding achievement in certified planning. Fellowship is granted to planners who have achieved excellence in professional practice, teaching and mentoring, research, public and community service and leadership.
As a senior fellow for the Governing Institute, Littlefield is currently the lead analyst on the City Accelerator initiative. A city planner by career, Littlefield also provides private consulting services to government.
Littlefield has a long record of public service. Before serving as mayor of Chattanooga, he served on the Chattanooga city council, including two terms as chairman. In 1987, Littlefield was elected commissioner of public works for Chattanooga. He also served as the city’s director of economic development and with the Tennessee State Planning Commission.
Professionally credentialed as a member AICP, Littlefield is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in business.
